Meet the Artists

A little bit about our Artists

  Shelly - Shelly has two daughters and wants to do her share to make this world a better place for them. She has spent years working as a photographer, managing an art studio and being as green as possible. She now works as one of the Repurposed4you.com Artists and also owns the company. She lives with her husband and daughter in South Florida. She loves Mark Rothko's quote "Art is an adventure into an unknown world, which can only be explored by those willing to take risks."


  Deb - Deb is a mother of two and lives with her husband in Venice, Florida. She is one of Repurposed4you.com's major contributors and enjoys finding preloved treasures and giving them new function. She always enjoys thinking outside the box. Deb lives by Thomas Edison's quote, "To invent, you need good imagination and a pile of junk."


  Fran - Fran is a mother of two and a grandmother of four and counting. She has been Repurposing long before it was hip and cool, as she made skirts for her granddaughters out of her daughter's old dresses. She lives with her husband in Fort Myers, Florida and is thrilled to be an artist for the company. Fran says "Never stop dreaming, be creative and live life to the fullest."


Audrey - Audrey is a middle school student with fresh ideas and a unique perspective on being green. She is Editor-in-cheif of the yearbook and President of her school's National Junior Honor Society. Her creative inspiration is Jim Henson.


  Ann - Ann is married and lives with her husband in Point Pleasant, NJ. She has two college-aged daughters.  After a 20-year career as a graphic designer and art director in a Boston suburb, she is now in her 5th year as a special education art teacher at an alternative school in NJ.  Her lesson plans often include teaching about and demonstrating how to use old materials in a new and creative way.  Her favorite quote is by Marc Chagall. "Great art picks up where nature ends."


Laura - Laura is a mother of two young children and an avid glass and bottle collector. She lives in the Pennsylvania Amish Country. Being in a very old and rural area, the natural wooded habitats and farmlands have multiple antique glass and bottle dumps on them. Now a treasure trove for collectors, but a hazard to the environment and wildlife, she reclaims the broken pieces of antique glass and turns them into beautiful pieces of jewelry. As a way to preserve this history she prepares for each piece "The Story of the Glass" detailing the history and the age of the piece. She believes that as pretty as any gem, this old glass should be remembered and treasured for this history it holds.
 


  Gretchen - Gretchen is an artist and industrial designer, but her most important new job is that of being mommy to her precious newborn son! Gretchen has found a way to make use of the many pounds of junk mail delivered to her daily. Her dog, Amos also likes to take things out of the trash can. However, he tends to eat the things he finds instead of making them into useful items. I guess we all "recycle" in our own way. Gretchen lives and works in Minneapolis, Minnesota. 




Jennifer - Jennifer lives with her fiancée and 16 yr. old daughter in Lakeland, FL. She started Madefromtheheart just a little over a year ago as a hobby, but it has turned into a full time business. The majority of her art involves recycled soda cans, there are just so many uses for them. Her fiancée and daughter play a big role in the business with lots of new and cool ideas and also helping her create and fill orders.
 


Merci'a - Since 2004, Merci's been creating recycled styles utilizing colorful, functional designs and favorite snack/candy wrappers, juice pouches and other discarded food packaging. Her creations are dedicated to renewal, revival and of course RECYCLING! With her warm-weather heritage came a deep appreciation for natures beauty and what soon followed was a deep need to make a contribution to lessen my "footprint" on this magnificent Earth.
